In a protest that took place recently, clashes, repression with tear gas, and detentions were reported, causing widespread rejection in various sectors of society. At the center of the controversy was the violence unleashed during the operation, which generated concern in public opinion.

Footballer Lisandro Martínez, world champion with the Argentine National Team, is known for expressing his opinions on political issues, and this time was no exception. He expressed his outrage at the police repression during the retirees' march through a social media message, questioning the actions of the security forces during the protest.

In a post on his Instagram account, Martínez shared an image of the clashes at the National Congress, accompanied by a message of condemnation: "What impotence and what shame that they attack the retirees like this." His reaction came in a context where criticisms were specifically directed at the police forces for their actions in the demonstration.

The repercussions of the complaint had a strong impact after photojournalist Pablo Grillo was seriously injured after being hit in the head by a tear gas canister, causing him a skull fracture and loss of brain mass. Meanwhile, he remains in intensive care with a reserved prognosis after several surgical interventions.

Another incident that generated condemnation was the assault on Beatriz Blanco, an 81-year-old retiree, who was beaten by police officers after reacting with her cane to the advance of the security forces, according to witness accounts and audiovisual records that circulated in media and social networks.

Martínez's stance adds to that of other athletes and public figures who also criticized the actions of the security forces during the mobilization, thus highlighting a widespread concern regarding the violence unleashed in the context of the protest.
